Goals

I have set some fitness goals for myself. One of them is to run 9 miles up the 10,000 foot mountains we have here in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I have been training all summer for this race. The race day is fast approaching. I will be at the starting line on the morning of August 3rd, ready to reach my goal of making it to the top of the mountain, running the whole way up. No walking for me. It will take about two hours to make it to the top. Once I get there I will be greeted with cheers and a finishers t-shirt. I am excited and ready to reach this goal that I have been working so hard for.

Another fitness goal I have is to run in the Rock n Roll San Antonio marathon on November 16th. I will be there with personal friends and other Beach Body coaches. I think there are almost 30 of us signed up at this point. I have not run a marathon for over five years, and was not sure if I ever would again after the last one. But, now I have made it a goal to run yet a 6th marathon. I am excited and ready to begin training for this goal when my race up the mountain is over.

I like setting goals, and I thrive on the challenge it takes to reach my goals. It takes hard work, dedication, focus and strength. It is not easy to reach some goals. That is why it is such a sweet and savory feeling when the goal is reached and has been completed. I really cannot put into words how sweet that victory is. You just have to experience it for yourself to understand what I am trying to describe. I am sure some of you have already experienced that feeling. If so, I am hoping you are not stopping at reaching one or two goals, but that you will keep setting goals the rest of your life. If you have not reached a fitness goal yet, then I encourage you to go for it NOW! Because now is the time. Think of why you are a part of Beach Body. Why did you sign up? You need to have a clear definition of your why, then you need to set a clear goal. Commit to reaching that goal and have your eyes on that finish line. Your finish line might be to be 30 pounds lighter than you are now. It may be to win the $10,000 monthly grand prize for sharing your success story. Or maybe your goal is to become a coach and help Beach Body reach those who are in need. Or maybe your goal is to complete a 5k race, or maybe even a marathon. Whatever it is, it is your goal and special to you. So, take charge of it and don’t let anything get in your way. Your biggest obstacle will be yourself. Reach your goal and succeed, then set another goal!
